UFO Cafe
Well, here we go! We’re breaking away from the counter and into the cafe.
Reducing the frequency of this strip from five days a week to three has yielded favorable results. I have heard the the guys at Penny Arcade once explained why they post only three times a week instead of five or seven. They said something like (and I paraphrase), “We could serve burgers five times a week or steak three times a week.” I understand that now – quality over quantity. Hey, if it works for them…

I guess I don’t understand why this is considered racist. It’s maybe regionalist as you seem to be commenting on how mexican food in, say Vermont, is not nearly as good as mexican food in, say New Mexico. So, naturally, mexican food would be terrible on another planet. How is that racist, Yujuhi? Please clarify. Also, Compa has his quirks just as any other character in this strip has theirs. He just happens to be hispanic. Is Eugene a racist depiction of caucasian people? Is Sheryl an ageist depiction of elderly women? Just because a character acts a certain way isn’t indicative of prejudice against the race they’re drawn as. In some of the color segments of this strip, Perk himself appears hispanic. Perhaps you’re just sensitive to this subject, Yujuhi, and that’s fine. But this strip is about as tame as it gets. Family Circus might be available online now, though.

Considering Yujuhi’s bad grammer, we might conclude she misunderstood the cartoon. It was funny. You might as well say it is planetist instead of racist, think of how the Aliens might feel about it!

Yeah, I kind of fail to see how saying “Mexican food is better in Mexico” is racist. Having moved from southern Arizona to Up-state NY, I can in fact confirm that the closer to Mexico you are, the better the Mexican food is!
BTW – just came across this comic and am already a fan. Keep up the good work!
