Bite Fight
I showed this comic to my sister and she asked, “What’s ‘comped’?”
Comped is a term used in the restaurant business to describe a meal that has had it’s charge taken off. For instance, if you ordered a meal and it came out wrong or messed up and you just didn’t want it, the manager would take the charge off so you wouldn’t have to pay for it. The item would still be in the system but would have a zero charge with a notation that it was comped.
Needless to say, the big boss is always worried the workers will comp the meals of their friends and such. Someone has to pay for that food. As they say, there’s no such thing as a free lunch.
