Promotion is key. I lost my keys.
I’m finding myself in a time crunch. And, as such, I put promotion on the back burner. Sadly, promotion should never rest there because it just gathers dust and everything comes to a standstill.
I’m learning that promotion is not just essential, it demands planning and extra effort. Also, all promotion should be able to be quantified. I understand all this, it’s the time that gets me.
Things are getting looser though. I’m gaining pockets of time where I can work on getting “Perk at Work” in front of people. It’s a good lesson for life. Networking is the way to get jobs, leads, contracts, free stuff, etc. Networking, at it’s heart, is promotion of self. This is not a bad thing, just a fact. If no one knows who you are, what you do, or how to contact you, how can they help you?
So I aim to ramp up promotion in 2011. I feel I now have a body of work that speaks for itself. The goal is to get it in front of folks and see if it speaks their language. I hope so.
Thanks for reading “Perk at Work” and I truly hope you get some joy from my work.
