I’ve been pondering what to do with the blog part of my website. I enjoy saying a little something about the strips when I post them yet that may seem like a double blog of sorts. At the same time, I like the blog part of the site in general. It’s fun to write stuff on there or share things that I enjoy.

Some webcomic creators use the blog space that’s coupled with the comic as the primary blog. I kinda like that. I do that with my other comic “In The Way.” There are others who write nothing about their individual strips and use the blog as a separate entity of sorts. There’s something to that as well. I guess it comes down to the personality of the artist/writer as well as what that person would like to communicate and why.

A blog separate from the comic is nice if there is merch that can be promoted, or if there are appearances at comic conventions and such in the works. A blog with the comic is good when there’s an extended thought related to the comic. Since my comics are in a gag-a-day format, the latter would probably work well for me. Then again, the blog may have to reflect that particular comic. Then again, who cares if it’s my comic after all?

In the end, I can go either way. And that’s the beauty of this medium – it can be an experiment too. I love having my own comic and doing whatever I want with it. I love seeing other people try new and innovative things with their comics. The whole comic strip world is open to all.

So will I “unblog” the blog? We’ll see. For now, I’ll just blog about it.
